Taragalte concept was born out of a partnership between the local team with local foundations as well as national and international institutions, all wishing to make a contribution to genuine development of the Moroccon Sahara region.

On 11-11-2011 the third Taragalte festival will be held, in the south of Morocco, in the Sahara. The full moon will give the blessing for a prosperous and abundant festival and a fantastic lineup is presented (download the program). The date was chosen to match with the traditional Moussem - a festival held when the trade caravans entered the big Oasis of M’hamid (Taragalte) after traveling across the desert for months. Emphasis is placed on cultural exchanges between communities of the North African Sahara. The Taragalte festival not only focuses on music, but also on the cultural and environmental heritage. After hard work the Taragalte concept now established itself in not only the yearly festival and a tourist accommodation, but also a conservation program and a line of design products co-created with Butterfly Works. We are working with 4 villages and 48 women to realize the product line that will be sold during the festival, of which we are very proud!
