2010

Friday, January 8, 2010

Wishing everyone a great and transformational 2010.

This month January 10 years ago was when we started our first training of web design students in Nairobi. It is truly amazing to look back on the last 10 years and recap on how far we have come. What started out, a decennium ago almost to the day, as an enormous adventure - which it still is to a large extent, has culminated in the solid foundation that is NairoBits. One that truly positively impacts young people lives. We are so thankful that the spirit that we invested caught the imagination of enough like minded sparks to grow into the organisation that you see today. One which continues to grow, improve and branch out into new sectors always reaching more young people. As we look to 2010, and contemplate the coming 10 years there's no doubt that the inspirational and practical role NairoBits has to play is in some ways only at the start of a new flight to reach its full potential in more countries. NairoBits is both an institution and a method and as a method can be used with partners for all kinds of social innovation challenges. We hope to remain part of this extended family of creators and social innovators contributing what we can to make the world a more fun place to be.
