The Kilimanjaro Film School trains Tanzanian youth coming from disadvantaged circumstances in different disciplines of filmmaking.

The Kilimanjaro Film Institute & Company was born from the cooperation between Bibeck and Butterfly Works with the goal to train disadvantaged Tanzanian people in different disciplines of filmmaking, in order to equip them with relevant skills and support them to find employment.
Using successful elements of NairoBits, the Kilimanjaro Film Institute trains students not only in film editing, planning and technical maintenance but also to develop their own way of making films and expressing themselves.
Once training is completed the production company, Mount Kilimanjaro Film Company, can employ the students with travel organizations in order to accompany tourists ascending Mount Kilimanjaro and film their hiking experience.
