The main objective of Words over Weapons is to raise awareness and change behavior towards non-violent conflict management. An added value of the curriculum is the integration of training in creative computer skills, which are presently not part of the high school curriculum. A further aim of Words over Weapons is to provide training and potential employment opportunities for unemployed youth from the South African townships: they are trained to assist teachers in the WoW program.
